Français: daily reading,  journal writing, learning about the components of comics, writing dialogue

English Language Arts: daily reading,  persuasive essay writing, preparing and presenting Speechtastic, writing poetry, critical thinking

   

Sciences de la nature:  learning about the properties of air and water

Sciences humaines:  exploring Canadian geography: provinces, territories and capital cities

**There is a new page on the blog (WORK AT HOME) with this week's assignments for students who are away from class.**

P.O.O.F!

  Students had the chance to reflect by completing a POOF(Positive Observations on Friday) page.

We shared our answers with the class, and 

now students have been asked to share their page with someone at home.

Speechtastic!

 It's time for another Speechtastic!

This month it's the Personal Narrative Speech!

Students will choose an event that changed their life in some way. They'll explain this personal experience by organizing it into a speech with an introduction, a middle and a conclusion.

Presentations will take place Thursday, May 13th and Friday, May 14th.

This Week in 6-1!

 Here's what we'll be working on this week:

Mathématiques:  the multiplication of decimal numbers,  problem solving, classifying and describing triangles

Français: daily reading, writing project, journal writing, learning about comics

English Language Arts: daily reading,  persuasive essay writing, read aloud & discussions, preparing speechtastic

   

Sciences de la nature:  learning about Canadian space missions,  types of satellites

Sciences humaines:  researching the Victoria Cross, learning about the end of World War II
